Small but beautiful

Dar Tassa, MoroccoDar Tassa may be a small Berber guesthouse in Morocco, but its certainly living up to its name!

It means ‘Home of Motherly Love’ and it is evident that owner Brahim Barkhouche has taken his moral and social responsibilities for the welfare of his guests very seriously.

He is supporting and helping to sponsor an ambitious environmental project to plant 33,000 fruit trees in the Azzaden Valley. He received approval to use the WTM World Responsible Tourism Day logo earlier this year.

The project is a partnership with the High Atlas Foundation, the Global Diversity Foundation, the Association des Amis du CHU, the Province d' Al Haouz, the Marrakech Department of Waters and Forests, the Department of Agriculture for the High Atlas, the Marrakech21 Foundation, Kasbah Tamadot, and Kasbah Toubkal.

The project also involves providing technical training in fruit tree agriculture.

Dar Tassa will present a prize for the cleanest village on WTM World Responsible Tourism Day. Plus they will plant a tree for every guest who stays with them on Wednesday 12 November to help offset their CO2 emissions.
