2012 - Worldwide

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group will be highlighting the day both at the World Travel Market and among their hotels with their global initiative RBAM 2012 (Responsible Business Action Month). During RBAM 2012 their hotels will be giving extra focus to community voluntary activities, organising local fundraising events as well as supporting their corporate charity World Childhood Foundation. The Rezidor Hotel Group will be encouraging the hotels to organise “A walk the world for Childhood” to raise funds and take part in World Cleanup, a global campaign which aims to remove illegally dumped rubbish.

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Nature-treks.com Himalaya will be highlighting the day at WTM with their Myagdi Community ecotourism trail. The organisation not only initiated the trail but operate it together with the local communities.

people and places, UK

people and places are supporting WTM WRTD for another year and will be highlighting the day through their blog and in their newsletters to volunteers and local partners. people and places campaigns for responsible volunteering and will be particularly active in this years campaign to highlight the ethics and challenges of volunteer programmes that work with vulnerable children, headed up by Professor Harold Goodwin.

SAGA Volunteer Travel, UK
SAGA Volunteer Travel is supporting WTM WRTD for a third year and will be highlighting the day on all of its brochures and letterheads to create awareness to their customers. On Wednesday 7 November, their call centre will be arranging activities to promote WTM WRT to all call centre agents.

World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations(WFTGA)

The WFTGA are supporting WTM WRTD for another year and will be highlighting WTM WRTD throughout 2012. The WFTGA will be attending WTM, meeting with organisations to plan their continued strategy of Responsible Tourism. They will also be Trainer Training which will include seminars on Responsible Tourism - the Tourist Guides Role, they will include articles in their on-line Magazine together with preparing for their Bi-ennial Convention in January 2013 which will include workshops on Responsible Tourism - the Tourist Guides Role.
