Black Mountain Montenegro Ltd, Montenegro
Supporting WTM WRTD for another year, Black Mountain Montenegro have been organising Adventure Race Montenegro for the last four years to promote sustainable tourism and the core values of Leave No Trace. 2010 saw the introduction of a second more challenging race reaching deeper into the remote valleys and mountains of Montenegro. 2011 sees the race seeking to take the race across the borders into Bosnia to foster relations and address environmental and social issues on both sides of the border. |

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Discover Media are working on a campaign to preserve the Danube Delta, part of UNESCO. While exhibiting at the World Travel Market they will be explaining how important it is to protect and respect the natural environment. The organization will also be corresponding with their customers and overseas partners, highlighting WTM WRTD and educating them on their impact on nature.

Foundation EcoAgrotourism, Spain
Foundation EcoAgrotourism is highlighting WTM WRTD for another year with their Ceres Ecotur Project. The objective of the project is to unite a network of ecological tourism in Spain, adding value to the preservation and promotion of the rural heritage, ethnographic and natural environment that surrounds it. They will also be highlighting their 2011 project which marks the UN International Year of the Forests and they have created their initiative Crea un Bosque (Create a Forest) with the objective of planting native trees in the surroundings of their accommodation.

Ministry for Gozo, Gozo – EM1350
Gozo is set to become an ‘Eco Island’ by 2020, the Eco-Gozo initiative is set to transform Gozo and Gozitan society into a sustainable reality – through education, economic development and social progress. Various initiatives have been introduced as part of Eco Gozo, including a new Eco-Schools programme, which focuses on Environmental Education and Sustainable Development for Gozitan school children. The Ministry of Gozo will be highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time this year and will have a dedicated information reception desk for Gozo and information on the ECO-GOZO 2020 vision at the Malta Tourism Authority stand.

To highlight WTM WRTD 2011 they will be hosting a responsible tourism training event in Umbria, Italy, where they will be launching their competition for the best/most innovative ideas that are introduced to support WRTD and that will be ongoing in their hotels/holiday destinations. Vatican Museums, Italy – EM1280 Celebrating WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Vatican Museums are offering a new range of tours in 2011. The guided tours are for the deaf and are in Italian Sign Language (LIS) which are conducted by deaf didactic guides who have all received specialist training. There are also Multisensory Tours for the blind and visually impaired enabling them to explore a selection of works in the Vatican Museums. |
