  Auron Expeditions, Albania
Highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time, Auron Expeditions have organised voluntour archaeological and cultural tourism programs in collaboration with BCTV and Rampart.

 

  Anatolian Adventures, Turkey
Anatolian Adventures are adopting the rules of a greener travel business to both their offices and their tours, together with the creation of a fund that will help the local communities in the areas where they visit.  This year the funds will be spent on repairing school buildings in Dogubeyazit town and will also provide the school with books, stationery and supplies.

 

  aQa Consulting 3.0, Spain
aQa Consulting 3.0 will be supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year by highlighting the day on their website and social networks.  They will also be offering a free advisor helpdesk focused on giving tips on “greening tourism business”.

 

  Cinque Terre Riviera, Italy – EM1150
Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Cinque Terre Riviera holiday rentals will be promoting tourism in the Cinque Terre Riviera National park area through the various activities that characterize the region: natural beauties, food & wine, ancient traditions, simple way of life.  After years of activity as an outgoing travel agency, they decided to concentrate on the development of a responsible tourism that helps locals to appreciate and live by their traditions and the tourist to learn an old and simple way of living.  They will be highlighting the day by promoting these values at WTM.

 

 

Discovering Umbria, Italy 
Discovering Umbria are celebrating WTM WRTD for the first time and they will be highlighting the day by telling others about the importance of travelling responsibly via their blog, website and social networks.  The organisation will be offering their customers a free one day responsible tour.

 

  EcoTurkey, UK
EcoTurkey is a relatively new business dedicated to promoting responsible tourism in Turkey. The website is a guide to the country, up to date travel advice and details of ethically and ecologically sound holiday packages and accommodation. The business works with environmental organisations, human rights groups and local community groups in order to promote sustainable tourism and ethical holidays in Turkey. Eco Turkey partner with mokugift as part of the UNEP Billion Tree Campaign, Climate Care and the World Land Trust.  Eco Turkey also supports The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds campaigning to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife.

 

 

El próximo viaje, Spain
El próximo viaje is a travel blog site focusing on sustainable initiatives. They will be highlighting WTM WRTD for a second year on their website.

Elite Travel Albania spent more than 10 years creating a network of well trained and responsible people and suppliers that are working on the tourism industry. Our organization team spends voluntary more than 20% of the time on tourism development processes in order to improve and make this industry one of the important columns of the Albanian Economy. Beside all contributions we gave regularly on the previous years actually our company is approaching and facilitating both with the private sector members, tourism associations and stakeholders the improvements of VET system (Vocational Education & Training) for the Tourism Sector in order to resolve the social problems that will after; integrate minorities, women as working force, poor areas, improve the quality of services in Albanian Tourism industry etc.We are proud to support WTM WRTD for the first time; therefore we take the responsibility to put WTM WRTD logo on our company website, Company coaches, business cards and delivering the message into all Albanian private and public institutions on 2011. 

 

 

Feelgood Travel, Norway
Highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Feelgood Travel promote areas in Africa, Sri Lanka, Eduador and Amazonas, where they visit and stay and meet the locals.  The locals are given an opportunity to earn money using ‘trade not aid’.  This year the organisation will be visiting the Sri Lankan school that they help during WTM.

 

 

Follow The Camino, Ireland – EM1400
Follow The Camino specialise in walking, cycling and horse riding holidays on the Way of St James, the famous Camino de Santiago and across Europe.  To celebrate WTM WRTD 2010 they will be launching a series of five talks about Camino Responsible, with the first talk on Wednesday 10 November about Environmental Impacts of Tourism.

 

  FORUM NATURA, Spain
Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time, Forum Natura will be publishing an article highlighting WTM WRTD through the magazine.

 

  Fuerteventura Tourist Board – EM1500
This year the Fuerteventura Tourist Board is working closer with the private sector to make them realise how important sustainable tourism is as a key strategic issue to encourage tourists to respect local culture, local traditions and natural resources.

 

  Fundacion Ecoagroturismo, Spain
This organisation is committed to the development and promotion of rural tourism with sustainable criteria. Together with Eceat-International they have implemented a Sustainable Quality System in rural accommodation.  Fundacion Ecoagroturismo, in collaboration with local and organic farmers, has started an Ecogastronomy project in rural restaurants. This year, 2010, will see the first 30 rural accommodation certificates in Spain with the Quality System and the creation of a Restaurant Network with Ecogastronomy in Asturias.

 


  Gibraltar Tourist Board – UKI345
The Gibraltar Tourist Board will be highlighting the work of the Gibraltar Ornithological and Natural History Society (GOHNS) and promoting the Alameda Wildlife Park and the Alamameda Botanical Gardens. WTM WRTD will be highlighted with information on the GOHNS and the Heritage Trust together with a competition to visit Gibraltar and the natural sights of the Upper Rock area. 

 

  GreenStep, Italy
Supporting WTM WRTD for another year, GreenStep Consulting carries out studies, research and publications in the field of tourism. They will be highlighting WTM WRTD 2010 through their website and in University classroom activities.

 

  Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority, Monaco – EM1245
Monaco will be highlighting their new ‘Meet Green’ Program including Carbon Offsetting program of the Prince Albert II Foundation during WTM WRTD.

 

 p&v Pierre & VacancesCenterParcs – EM1440
Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs will be highlighting WTM WRTD by showcasing local products from the Savoie Mont Blanc region and encourage ski tour operators to use local products in their catering programmes.  They will also be focusing on Avoriaz and the further development of the traffic free village, together with highlighting their Sustainable Development Week.

 

  PURAVERA S.L., Spain
Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Puravera SL will are highlighting the day by holding a photographic competition to show sustainable principles in the shire of ‘La Vera’ with the final held on WTM WRTD in November 2010.

 

Responsible Hotels Travel ResponsibleHotels.travel
ResponsibleHotels.travel will be highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time this year on their newly launched website. The website was created to gather together a selection of hotels that implement responsible policies focused for the European travel market. The platform also offers users a Responsible Rating that measures the level of responsibility by using their in house tool and criteria such as Environment: ecological footprint and authenticity and also People: customer satisfaction and responsible impact/behaviour.

 

  Ruka and Pyha Ski Resorts, Finland
Rukakeskus Oy, Phyatunturi Oy have been supporting WTM WRTD since 2008 which saw the introduction of a major environmental program, put in place to minimize the impact of their operations. 2009 saw the company focusing on staff training, customer awareness, energy efficiency and enhancing their recycling program. This year the company will be highlighting WTM WRTD 2010 in their lifestyle magazine as well as looking to make the WTM WRTD information on their website more interactive. Staff communications regarding WTM WRTD are communicated on their intranet.

 

  The Travel Foundation, UK
The Travel Foundation have been invited to take part in two seminars on sustainable tourism during WTM WRTD. They will be promoting, and celebrating the day, by highlighting the seminars and the overall day to all of their supporters and ‘Forum’ members to help raise awareness of the issues and to help travel companies to take action on sustainable tourism. 

 

  Travel2help.org, Finland
Travel2help.org provides volunteer opportunities abroad, offering intercultural learning opportunities through volunteer work placements in developing countries. All activities are based on respecting the local customs and conventions while addressing the needs of the communities that the volunteers serve. Travel2help.org support many projects including orphanages, street children, Schools, hospitals and clinics, villages, youth detention and rehabilitation, disability projects, AIDS projects and environmental conservation. 2010 sees their continued encouragement of cross-cultural communication and they will be highlighting WTM WRTD by announcing the results of a writing/photo competition.

 

  Travelshop Turkey, Turkey – EM803
Travelshop Turkey are highlighting WTM WRTD by launching the new Eco Tours Turkey initiative www.ecotoursturkey.com.  TravelShop Turkey offers beautiful holidays full of character and charm, at great value for money and with the reassurance of grass-roots responsible tourism.

 

  Viator Travel, Croatia
Viator travel is a travel agency from Dubrovnik who operate using the principles of responsible tourism. They have been directly involved in afforestation projects, planting pine trees to replace those destroyed by fire in Dubrovnik in 2007, and are also involved in the ecological ‘cleaning the sea’ projects, supported by local dive companies and fishermen’s associations.  2010 sees the continuation and development of or their tours and activities through responsible and sustainable travel criteria.

 

 

Villa PaPe, Croatia
Supporting WTM WRTD for another year, Villa PaPe have recently been invited to become part of the Croatian Eco label Eko-Partner project in both an advisory and participatory capacity. Living sustainably for Villa PaPe means many simple daily activities that will ensure the continued survival of the community and the environment that supports them.
