Amazonas Explorer, Peru– LA300 Highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Amazonas Explorer annually plant between 8 and 14,000 native polyepolis trees in the Lares Valley, high in the Andes, working with local communities to reforest vital areas. The organisation has been involved in planting 67,000 trees since 2001 and they are planning to plant about 40,000 trees for 2010. |

Condor Travel, Peru – LA401 Supporting WTM WRTD for the fourth year and will be highlighting the day by showing a video and printed material celebrating their first 100% self run project in a local community in Cusco, Mullak’as Missminay. The organisation continues to focus on their staff’s well being and promoting sustainable tourism within the local communities and their own organisation |

Consulting 27, Brazil Consulting 27 are supporting WTM WRTD for another year and as a consulting firm with a portfolio of services based on the corporate social responsibility practices for the tourism and hospitality industry, and a sustainable tourism developer and certificator; they intend to publish the WTM WRTD logo with their documents, messages and media throughout the year. |

Cultura Ya’ax, Mexico Cultura Ya’ax produces cultural and ecological TV programmes in Mexico and also represent ecological hotels in Tulum. Cultura Ya’ax travel around the Peninsula de Yucatan to discover the natural and cultural heritage and transmit their message of ‘preservation’ to the local communities. The company’s message is also transmitted through their web pages to tourists and tour operators. |

DUOC UC, Chile Supporting the WTM WRTD for the first time this year, DUOC UC (educational institution) will be organizing a seminar that will cover many important aspects about Responsible Tourism in Chile, including local speakers who have had experience with Responsible Tourism in their own companies. DUOC UC aims its programs at those who don't have access to a university education thus empowering them with knowledge and abilities that help them find work. |

DyTours Bolivi, Bolivia Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time, DyTours Bolivi is a tourism magazine that gives information about the diversity, cultures and places to visit in Bolivia. They will be highlighting WTM WRTD by publishing an article in their November issue relating to responsible tourism and the Cape Town Declaration. |

Exploring Horizons Ltd, USA Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Exploring Horizons Ltd are a travel agency who are promoting eco-friendly and responsible tourism, offering both leisure and cultural & educational travel. They are planning to highlight WTM WRTD 2010 on their website, by posting their responsible tourism goals in their Mission Statement, providing a link to the Cape Town Declaration and encouraging customers to choose more sustainable and responsible choices. |

Fundación Félix Azara, Argentina Supporting WTM WRTD for the third year, Fundación Félix Azara will be highlighting the day through their website and their Museum Night in Buenos Aires. Fundación Félix Azara organise culture patrimony heritage training to the public and also organise field workshops to help identify tools and manage opportunities in an emergency status environment. |

Huaorani Ecolodge, Ecuador The Huaorani are a timeless tribe who live in the forests of the Amazon. When faced with the destruction of their surroundings and the possible disappearance of their way of life, the Huaorani chose to resist. By inviting small numbers of people to share their world for short periods they intend to keep their culture alive. They have opted for sustainable tourism, The Huaorani Ecolodge. Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, their principle objective is the conservation of nature and respect for tribal people and cultures. The project jointly with the local community are developing a nature reserve to raise awareness about the intrinsic value of cultural or natural attractions, or the necessity to preserve and support endangered peoples in their efforts to survive and protect their environments. The Ecolodge are focusing on improving the experience of their guests by working to gain the internationally recognised Smart Voyager certificate and are involved in an initiative looking at ways to save water. |

Il Viaggio Travel, Costa Rica – LA555 Highlighting WTM WRTD for the fist time this year, Il Viaggio promote balanced interaction between the appropriate use of cultural and natural resources, the improved standard of living among local communities and economic success. Every three months the organisation arranges seminars for their staff and the local communities. Their most recent seminar was on topics such as certification of sustainable tourism, annual clean ups of streets, rivers and beaches, positive and negative impacts of tourism in local communities, trade shows such as WTM and WRTD. All of this information is then uploaded to their Facebook account. |

Island Villas, Barbados Highlighting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Island Villas has started the Island Villas Goes Green initiative. This activity is promoted internally through greening and recycling efforts and externally at all of their properties by introducing recycling units and educating the public about greening and sustainability to decrease the environmental impact of tourism on society. They will promote WTM WRTD through local staff, suppliers and vendors, together with visitors and guests. |

LATITUD SUR, Peru Latitud Sur is Peruvian & Ecuadorian non-governmental organization of development, intending to strengthen the autonomy and the capacity of self-management of the native populations, in particular in the domains of land preservation, traditional medicines and solidarity tourism. Their projects are ongoing and include the the “Selva Viva”, a boat built to help with recovering traditional medicine in the Peruvian northern Amazon region, theorganization of an autochthonous network of health care on Shuar territory (Ecuador), the creation and technical support for the Shuar Department of Traditional Medicine (Ecuador), the conservation of Huichol pilgrimage places and paths (Mexico, the Zero Deforestation Action: Refund of Shiwiars Zapara and territories (Ecuador) and Solidarity Tourism in Ecuador, Peru and Mexico to name a few. |

Mayaland Resorts, Mexico Mayaland Resorts have been supporting WTM WRTD for the last three years. This year they are planning a reforestation project in the Mayan tropical forests of the surrounding areas of Chichen Itza and Uxmal. They will be showing the local community how to plant the trees and how to be responsible with their fragile environment. |

Metropolitan Touring, Ecuador Supporting WTM WRTD for the third year, Metropolitan Touring will be sharing their latest updates on the Fundacion Galapagos-Ecuador projects through their Commitment Magazine, September 2010 edition, with their goal to motivate more clients to become actively involved in their sustainability efforts. |

Mountain Lodges of Peru, Peru – LA300/300b Mountain Lodges of Peru will be highlighting WTM WRTD through their brochure, flyers, their website and via their blog, FaceBook and Twitter. The organisation is involved with about 40 projects involving the communities and area of the Salkantay Route and together with their EcoTeam they work hard to protect and preserve their environment for example conducting recycling and reforestation campaigns. |

Napo Wildlife Center, Ecuador Napo Wildlife Center is an Ecolodge managed by the local Community of Añangu in the Ecuadorian Amazon and is supporting WTM WRTD for the second year. They will be highlighting this special day on their website. Napo Wildlife Center are working on a program “Forest Partner” whose purpose is to avoid deforestation and to protect its ecological, economical and cultural value; as well as to improve the living conditions of rural communities. |

NATURECO, Brazil – LA550 Natureco have transformed their lodges into traditional cattle ranches so that visitors can comprehend how this way of life is responsible for conserving their ecological sanctuary. Their latest activity is the founding of an NGO that is focusing on the planning of ecotourism, as well as culture and conservation. |

Tropical Journeys in Nature, Ecuador Tropic Journeys in Nature are an award–winning ecotourism company specializing in providing high quality travel experiences in Ecuador’s most spectacular natural areas in the company of its native people. The organisation sees ecotourism as an ongoing project for sustainable development and their goal, together with their foundation, Conservation in Action, is to ensure that the local people receive the benefit that ecotourism gives. One of the community managed sustainable development programmes that they support is their new lodge that has been developed with the Huaorani community, Huaorani Ecolodge. Tropical Journeys in Nature also support the Galapagos Walking program. |

During November they will be promoting the day through their online campaigns, their Newsletter and their online community. |

Tumul K’in Center of Learning, Belize Tumul K’in Center of Learning’s philosophy is based on Mayan values and they are an organisation that is culturally centered and environmentally conscious. As part of their tourism initiative they are looking at two ventures, firstly as a tour operator and secondly the opening of a craft shop. The tours will be ‘green conscious’ tours with policies against the exploitation of the local community and will be carried out to benefit local tour guides and sites. The craft shop will sell original indigenous products. As a culmination of their efforts “Maya Day” will be held under the theme of ‘celebrating our identity’ and will commemorate the Mayan culture, values, spirituality and philosophy through various activities such as tortilla baking contest, corn husking and shelling competition to name a few. |
